September Splendor

Hiking the Crest Trail on Labor Day,
starting on Guardsman by Snowbird.
9 miles of fun. (Are they twins?)
Arriving at Desolation Lake
How fun to see the Gallis on the trail!
We love our mountain home!
Rob is heavily involved in promoting the new Millcreek city. (We are now unincorporated.)
And he was recently nominated to serve on the Canyon Rim Community Council as well. As a certified city planner, I'm sure his skills will come in handy!

Bekah went to homecoming on Saturday- her first date!
(with Tyler somebody :)
She looked radiant, as you can see!
We'll carefully guard our precious sister!!

Jacob has been called to serve as District Leader in Bratislava and is having a great time. His mission president indicates that he has, "prepared very well for this important responsibility. I have watched Elder Peterson carefully and know him to be a very special young man and a dedicated servant of the Lord", he says.  We love that Elder Peterson!!!  Happy Birthday, dear Jacob!

Rob and I had a cabin overnight party with some ward friends last weekend,
and hosted a well attended neighborhood block party the next night!
Rob celebrated his 53rd in a couple days.
Happy Birthday, dear Rob!!

The twins and Liz are hanging out at the Thomas's house these days.
We're all having fun getting to know them. Even Berkeley wants to be a part of the fun!!

Jonathan, above, weighs nearly 6 lbs, Brigham, using oxygen, is pushing 5.
They're beautiful, delightful boys! Now, if we can only help them figure out night and day!!

Some Late Summer Adventures

Bekah's cabin party with some friends - Sweet 16!!

Hiking up to Timpanogas Caves.

Starting to reap our harvest...

Yes, it's dark!  We're  heading up the Mt Olympus trail at 5:40 am!
Starting to get light - bad camera setting...

We made it!!

The kids insisted on running the whole way down the mountain!
And why not?  It's easier on your joints,  I'm sure.
Alas, I tripped and got a bunch of stitches! No broken bones though.

Joseph's turn to have some friends up to the cabin.

 Our fearless fisherman!

Another week's harvest.
(Thanks to Aunt Pat for the tip to share our surplus with the Utah Food Bank!)

Four wisdom teeth removed at once.   Thanks, Uncle Allan!!

Baby birds hatched on the porch at the cabin.  This picture was taken yesterday.
I hope they are mature by winter!!

They're the best of friends!

Not pictured: our bike ride to Groves Market for huge sandwiches,
our bike ride up Emigration Canyon with Bekah's new bike,
our annual scooter and bike ride on the Provo River Bike Trail
from Vivian Park to Utah Lake and back to Provo.
We miss you, Dave and Anna!!

One more look at Northern California

We loved Golden Gate Park's Japanese Gardens!

Having lunch in San Francisco's Japan Town

An unusual glimpse of China Town

Our camp ground in the redwoods.

This tree is 370 feet tall!

I've always wanted to ride bikes through the redwoods!

Tadpoles are so elusive.

6 mile hike back to camp with Sharon.

Resting from our vacation on the beach at Lake Tahoe.

Thanks, Mom and Dad (W&V)!!
